Council Elections   

Councils are part of the democratic framework of Australia. The community elects their Council Members every four years.
The next Council General Elections will be held in November 2018.

Supplementary Council Election
Council have received the resignation of Councilor Kristina Alexander and therefore in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act , Local Government Elections Act and Councils policy a supplementary election will be held to fill the vacancy on Council.

The election will be managed by the South Australian Electoral Commission with Paula Bigmore holding the position of Council Liaison Officer for the purposes of the election.

The voting for the election will be by postal voting

Detailed below are the relevant dates relating to the supplementary election;

Candidate Briefing Session, Council Chambers, Council Office

28 June 2017, 6pm

Electoral roll closes

31 May 2017

Nominations will be received from

22 June to 6 July 2017

If more than one nomination is received an election will be held


Voting papers will be posted to all those on the electoral roll commencing on

18 July 2017

Voting closes on

7 August 2017

The counting of votes will occur

at the offices of the South Australian Electoral Commission

7 August 2017

A provisional result will be declared

7 August 2017
